Many people have asked me how I know for sure that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah of Israel (the anointed one) promised in so many biblical professions. The only way to prove it that I found believable more than 20 years ago and still updated are the professions of Daniel. In Daniel 9:24-27 he approximates with excellent precision the date of the appearance of the Messiah, the anointed one of God. Only one man meets the requirements of that date: Yeshua ben Yosef (Jesus son of Yosef)
In general, the Jewish people do not recognize Yeshua as their Messiah, because Yeshua is not God, nor can God be divided (He is a <Ejad>, a single unit) and also he did not fulfil in his time some key professions such as:
1.The return of the Jews to their homeland
- Reconstruction of the Jerusalem Temple
- The knowledge of “God” will fill the earth.
- Era of peace
But those professions will come to be fulfilled by Yeshua at the end of time.
Biblical Bases
Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to end transgression and put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring enduring righteousness, and to seal vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Holy one of the saints.
Dan 9:25 He knows, then, and understands, that from the departure of the order to restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the Messiah Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. The square and the wall will be rebuilt in distressing times.
Dan 9:26 – After sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be taken away, but not by himself. And the people of a prince who is to come will destroy the city and the Sanctuary, but its end will be like a flood, and until the end of the war ravages have been decreed.
Dan 9:27 – And for another week he will confirm the covenant with many. In the middle of the week he will cease the sacrifice and offering. Then, with the crowd of abominations, the desolator will come, until the consummation comes, and what is determined is poured upon the desolator”
What do these verses affirm?
1- In Daniel 9: The Messiah has to come before the destruction of the Second Temple that happened on August 30, 70 AD.
Dan 9:26 “After sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be taken away, but not by himself. And the people (Rome) of a prince (Titus) who is to come will destroy the city (Jerusalem) and the Sanctuary (Second Temple 70 AD).”
Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I send my messenger (Yeshua), who will prepare the way before me. And suddenly the Lord (Messiah) whom you seek will come to his House (Second Temple); the angel of the covenant, whom you desire” (Yeshua will have to enter the Second Temple and is the Angel of Adonai, not God).
Psalm 118:26 “Blessed is he who comes in the Name of YHVH! From the House of YHVH (Second Temple) we bless you.”
Haggai 2:7 “I will shake all nations, and the Desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this House (Second Temple) with glory,” says YHVH Sebaot.
2- Daniel 9:26 It says: The Messiah comes, dies, and then the Destruction of the Second Temple happens.
3- KEYWORDS:
Weeks= Strong Hebrew #7620 שָׁבוּעַ shabua meaning “made of seven, i.e. a week” (spec. of years)
Day of the week=year (Lev 25:8) “And you shall count for you seven weeks of years: seven times seven years, so that the days of the seven weeks of years may become forty-nine years.”
Historical data necessary for the calculation
1- Dan 9:25 “Know, then, and understand, that from the departure of the order to restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the Messiah Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks.“
7 + 62 = 69 Weeks
2- Nehemiah 2:1-8 (8) “And the king (Artaxerxes I) granted it to me, according to the beneficent hand of my God upon me.” On this date he was granted permission to restore Jerusalem.
1 Nisan 445 BC (14 March 445 BC)
Remember that Artaxerxes I began his reign in 465 BC, so if he granted any benefit to Nehemiah, his cupbearer, he granted it 20 years into his reign, 445 BC.
Neh 2:1 “And in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, in the month of Nisan”
. Note: It took 49 years to rebuild the walls of the city. 445-49=396 Approximate date on which the last book of the Tanack (Malachias) was written
3- Luke 3:23 “Yeshua Himself, at the beginning, was about thirty years old”
So if he preached for 3 years, Yeshua would be 33 years old when he died. Date of Yeshua’s death, the Messiah of Israel was Monday, April 14, 32 AD at 3 pm.
ANALYSIS OF THE KINGS OF PERSIA

Calculations to Be Made
According to Daniel 9:25, 62 WEEKS + 7 WEEKS = 69 WEEKS
69 RESULTING WEEKS x 7 years = 483 YEARS between the Decree of Atajerjes to rebuild Jerusalem issued to Nehemiah in March 445 BC until the Anointed Messiah.
Based on Lev 25:8 “And you shall count to yourself seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Saturdays of the years will be for you forty-nine years
483 x 360 days (to the Jewish calendar) = 173,880 days
173,880 days/ 365.5 (to the Gregorian calendar) is equal to 475.73 years.
475.73 – 445 BC (to reach the year 1 AD, remember that there is no year “0”) = There are 30.73 years left. 30.73 years + 1 year DC = 31.73.
Remember that the date of the death of Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel was Monday April 14, 32 AD at 3 pm. The resulting date so accurately affirms without a doubt that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel that the prophesies affirm.
If Yeshua was born around 1 B.C., He will have been around His third year of His ministry when He was crucified and raised from the dead (32 AD). According to NASA data, the possible dates of Passover (Easter) were:
•Monday, April 18, D.C. 29
•Friday, April 7, D.C. 30
•Tuesday, March 27, D.C. 31
•Monday, April 14, D.C. 32
•Friday, April 3, D.C. 33
Dan 9:26 “And after three and two weeks the Messiah will be cut off, but not for himself and the people of the prince who come will destroy the city and the sanctuary” Then, 38 years later, the Second Temple was destroyed by Titus in A.D. 70.
