The word mitzvot (Commandments) is plural; singular is Mitzvah (commandment). Of the 613 mitzvot: 248 commandments are positive (do) and 365 commandments are negative (not do); many of these commandments (as all the commandments related to sacrifices) are not feasible, as there is not a temple in Jerusalem, also that Yeshua is now our high priest in heaven (Hebrews 6:20), and we are forgiven by his blood (Hebrews 7:27).
The Rabbi Mosheh ben Maimon, better known by the name Maimonides (1135-1204 born in Cordoba, Spain), an eminent Jewish Sephardic philosopher, astronomer and one of the more prolific and influential scholars of the Torah, wrote the Sefer Hamitzvot (the book of commandments) that indicates the commandments of Elohim as they are known today.
To be a Messianic Nazarene Jew implies two basic things: one the observance of the Torah: the 613 Mitzvot of YHWH, and the other is to recognize Yeshua as the Messiah of the Tanack.
Many messianic jewish organizations of recent times have taken the attitude of almost ignoring the observance of the 613 Mitzvot of Elohim: forgeting to promote their reading and doing them in real life, and in other cases Condemning the whole Law of YHWH.
YHWH very clearly says:
Yehoshua (Jos) 1:8 “Do not let this Book of the Torah (Exodus 12 to Deuteronomy 34) depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and act wisely.“.
Also Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel, says:
Matitiyahu (Mat) 5:17-19 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done (The End of Times). Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. ”
Matitiyahu (Mat) 22:36-40 ““Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah? And Yeshua said to him, “ ‘You shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind. This is the first and great command (Shema: Deuteronomy 6:4-5). And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.” (Insures the reality of the Law).
Matitiyahu (Mat) 24:20 “And pray that your flight does not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. “. If Yeshua knew that the commandment of Shabbat (Exodus 20:9-11 ) will be eliminated later, he will not have said what he said.
Even Paul said:
Romans 3:31 “For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief nullify the trustworthiness of Elohim?
(The Law is then confirmed, no eliminated)
In these following verses we see that TO BE SINNERS WE HAVE TO KNOW THE LAW OF ELOHIM, because if the law was deleted no one would have sin, as is through it that we know what sin is:
Romans 3:20 “Therefore by works of Torah no flesh shall be declared right before Him, for by the Torah is the knowledge of sin.”
1 Yohanan (John) 3:4 “Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness..”
Romans 7:25 “Thanks to Elohim, through Yeshua the Messiah our Master! So then, with the mind I myself truly serve the Torah of Elohim“. (Paul is clear, he serves the Law of the Eternal God)
1 Timothy 1:8 “And we know that the Torah is good if one uses it legitimately,”
1 Yohanan (John) 5:2 “By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands.” (His Law).
1 Yohanan (John) 3:21-24 “Beloved ones, if our heart does not condemn us, we have boldness toward Elohim. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we guard His commands and do what is pleasing in His sight. And this is His command, that we should believe in the Name of His Son Yeshua the Messiah and love one another, as He gave us command. And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us” (This is 100% Clear)
Revelation 14:12 “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of Yeshua.”.
As you have clearly see, IF THERE IS NOT LAW OF ELOHIM, THERE IS NOT SIN IN THIS WORLD.
The Law of Elohim is a blessing for all who love YHWH as it says in Yehoshua (Jos)1:8 “Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and act wisely.“.
REMEMBER THE LAW WAS NOT ABOLISHED, STILL WORKS FOR TODAY, AND EVERY MESSIANIC NAZARENE JEW HAS TO ABIDE BY THE 613 MITZVOT AND RECOGNIZED YESHUA AS THE MESSIAH OF ISRAEL.
